The Dispatch Time Study is an internationally recognized strategic tool to measure the current time required for the dispatch and release of goods, from the moment of arrival at the point of entry to the moment of their departure, with the aim of identifying delays. in the flow of commerce and design the actions that correspond to each actor to improve the effectiveness of clearance procedures.
The Superintendence of Tax Administration -SAT-, as the governing body of the Customs System of Guatemala, through the Comprehensive Customs Modernization Program of the Customs Administration, assumed the commitment at the country level framed in the Trade Facilitation Agreement of the World Organization of Commerce (WTO), on the completion of the first National Study of Clearance Times in accordance with the Guide for the Measurement of the Time Required for the Release of Goods of the World Customs Organization, under the technical assistance of the Mercator Program.
This measurement had the support and cooperation of other government authorities and the private sector. Likewise, it had the advice, supervision and monitoring of the World Customs Organization.
