SAT and the Municipality of Cobán sign an agreement to optimize vehicle management
The Superintendent of Tax Administration, Marco Livio Díaz Reyes, and the Municipal Mayor of Cobán, Alta Verapaz, Felipe Pop Cucul, signed an Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement that reflects the commitment of both entities to the implementation of joint actions for the benefit of the community in road matters.
The agreement establishes coordination between both entities, consolidating the following benefits: Use of technology for the exchange of information through the Vehicle Information System (SIVESAT), implementation of a agile payment and solvency system on the municipality's web portal, as well as carrying out operations to verify the carrying of the distinctive signs of vehicles registered in the municipality.
This initiative is key to avoiding late payments on vehicles currently circulating in this jurisdiction, figure that exceeds 4 unitss.
The Superintendent reiterated that the Tax Administration continues to establish steps to promote road safety for the benefit of all Guatemalans, which is why this alliance, the 19th with various municipalities, will allow us to continue working proactively with local governments to reduce accidents and promote a more effective vehicle management culture and contribute to the country we all love.
