– PCI- Interinstitutional Control Posts

The Interinstitutional Control Posts -PCI - are a measure implemented by the Guatemalan authorities to strengthen controls and compliance for the benefit of the Country, located in different strategic points of the Guatemalan territory, exercising controls in the secondary zone of the national customs territory.

Several government institutions participate in these positions, such as the Superintendency of Tax Administration -SAT-, National Civil Police, Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food.

The main purpose of the PCI is to ensure compliance with customs laws and regulations, as well as prevent smuggling, money laundering and other illicit activities related to international trade.
